steve mcqueen

Marian Goodman is showing two new pieces by Steve McQueen. Giardini, 2009, a "major work first shown at the 53rd International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale when McQueen represented the UK" will make its New York premiere, as well as Static, 2009, a piece made specifically for this show.

In the studio is fun.

I've yet to check out Damon Dash's new Duane Street "Factory," but it sounds like he's making the most of his new-found free time.

jeffrey deitch

Jeffrey Deitch is becoming the new director at the embattled Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. Honestly, I think he is going to do very well. And his spaces in the city will be missed.

josephine halvorson

Josephine Halvorson's work intrigues me. I remember first seeing her work while in the MFA program at Columbia. Since then things have gone incredibly well for her. Her show at Monya Rowe Gallery, Clockwise from Window, closes January 16.

kenneth noland

Kenneth Noland has passed.

chris antkowiak

Everybody's favorite genius, Christopher Antkowiak, has a piece in Viridian Artists's group show ART2010. The show runs through January 16, with an opening on January 7th.

New Year's in Seattle got me thinking about Mark Tobey.
