Arturo Herrera's show at Sikkema Jenkins features a new series of felts hanging from the wall in abstract and tangled shapes. Unlike earlier works that "lay flat against the wall, these fall away from the wall and spill onto the floor," simultaneously adding a greater "dimensionality and abstraction... [while] probing the potential of abstract forms through chance of their production."
Kota Ezawa's show at Murray Guy closes this week and should be seen. It features two new pieces, LYAM 3D, taken from the film L'année dernière à Marienbad, and Brawl, an animation of the infamous 2004 NBA fight. With this work Ezawa proves he is a very talented artist who continues to make very interesting and relevant work.

Gilbert & George are coming to Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Museum is the final stop of the first international retrospective of these two artists in over twenty years. Comprised of over eighty pieces, the show "traces their stylistic and emotional evolution through their pictures and art in other media, ranging from charcoal on paper sculpture from the early 1970s to postcard pieces to ephemera dating back to the 1960s." Do see it.
