Vik Muniz always has pretty interesting yet enjoyable work. His new show at Sikkema Jenkins should prove the same. For Verso, Muniz photographed the backs of several famous works of art, including "Les Demoiselles d'Avingon", "Starry Night" and "La Grande Jatte". He then reproduced these objects into 3-dimensional trompe-l'oeils in which "every scratch, dent or scribble is physically reproduced to photographic precision". I'm looking forward to it.
